The Blackberry Storm – Review
There is a lot to admire about the BlackBerry Storm, the first BlackBerry with a touch screen and sharp display! A few highlights.
Pros:
- One of the features of the Storm that I really enjoy is that it can shoot video as well as still photos. It has an auto-focus 3.2 megapixel camera while zooming in or out is as easy as rolling your fingers across the screen.
-
The sound quality and reception for making phone calls on the Blackberry Storm is exceptional!
-
-
The VZ Navigator includes traffic data as it helps you find your destination, and provides turn by turn voice instructions with spoken street names.
-
-
Visual Voicemail is another huge win! The voicemail screen display reflects who left you the voicemail and the length of the message. From there you have a number of options to choose.
-
Cons:
- The camera frustrated me on occasion in that is takes some time to focus and actually snap the shot. Frequently a shot was lost due to the delay.
-
Not all electronic retailers carry the chargers for the BlackBerry Storm. On a recent trip, I failed to take along my charger. A generic charger was eventually purchased, but finding one that the Storm recognized was a challenge.
-
- The small keyboard is a little less than fun. It’s too easy to “get ahead” of the phone, when typing and it becomes necessary to repeatedly re-type your message much more s l o w l y!
