LG Xenon GR500- Review
The LG Xenon GR500 has the identical interface that is established on the Vu with some added extras to the home screen. While the appearance is not pleasant to the eye as the new S-Class interface that LG uses in their European complements. Three icons on the pinnacle portion of the display changes the arrangement of the home screen. Here you will find the contacts list, application launcher for you favorite programs, and of course the default home screen. The Xenon makes use of the widgets that seem to be available now days on most phones. You can drag and drop the six widgets that are available onto the home screen. The six widgets include media player, picture viewer, calendar, analog & world clock, and the memo pad.
The Xenon can save up to 500 contacts. Unfortunately, the amount of information stored regarding each contact is very limited. At least the Xenon allows the storage of two phone numbers, short memo and a single email address.
If you enjoy test messaging, then you will find the keyboard is pretty cool. The virtual generic keyboard allows for typing message with or without the aid of T9 predictive texting. Somewhat disappointing is currently there is no option for a virtual QWERTY when change the to the landscape mode. It doesn't present much of an issue because the QWERTY still does its job in the normal mode. The biggest drawback which really is an inconvenience is having to use the caps button when texting since there is no shift button on the Xenon.
The LG Xenon could stand to improve upon a few of the specifications including the camera and the default interface. If the did that, the phone would have very little competition for this type of Smartphone. However, it still does a great job with messaging and the great touch screen.
